After security supervisor Saqlain Bangash was killed, the Peshawar University Teachers Association (PUTA) declared that the university would close down until their demands—including the removal of the vice-chancellor—were fulfilled.

After Bangash was slain on Sunday by a security officer, the decision was taken at an urgent gathering of PUTA's governing body. The institution will stay closed until our requests, which include a judicial investigation into the murder of the security supervisor, are met, according to PUTA President Mohammad Uzair.

Tension and unrest have been present on the campus of Islamia College University since security guards killed Bashir Ahmed, a lecturer there, and Saqlain Bangash, the security supervisor, within a two-week period.

No instructional, official, or even sanitation-related events on campus would be postponed, according to Uzair. Additionally, he declared an early until afternoon sit-in at PUTA Chowk on campus.

A legal investigation into the murder of Saqlain Bangash must be launched, the institution must be dreamed, and all security personnel must undergo psychiatric testing, according to PUTA's demands.

All of PUTA's actions have received the complete backing of FAPUASA, the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association.

Additionally, FAPUASA has called for a full strike at all universities on Wednesday from 11 am to 1 pm and has urged the staff at the remaining public colleges in the province to hold protest rallies in opposition.

University students held a protest rally against the two sad events that occurred within two weeks on Monday. The protesters urged quick action to put a stop to the unrest and reinstate calm.

According to a representative of the university management, a fact-finding committee had been established to look into the incident and file a report within ten days.

In the meantime, the security officer who killed Bangash was detained by campus authorities. According to Fazal Rehman, the case's investigation officer, "when the security guard rose up to open the gate for his boss, his gun slipped from his hands and went off, severely injuring Bangash."
