In order to get ready for England's forthcoming cricket matches against Ireland and the Ashes against Australia, Ben Stokes has revealed that he will quit the Indian Premier League (IPL) early.

Ben Stokes, an all-rounder for England, was purchased by the Chennai Super Kings in December's sale for a staggering $1.96 million. He will compete in the IPL through May 28.

He is obligated to play for England in both the Ashes series against Australia and the lone test against Ireland on June 1 at Lords.

The difficulty cricket authorities confront in balancing the interests of players and their various teams are highlighted by Stokes' choice. Many of Stokes' English colleagues who have been selected by IPL teams will also need to make choices about their availability for England's forthcoming games.

The IPL offers substantial cash incentives, and it is getting harder and harder for uncontracted players to pass up these "life-changing" opportunities, according to England's boss, Rob Key.

He also acknowledged that franchise cricket, which prevents all of the in-form players from always being available for national service, contributes to the weakness of the English team. For cricket bodies, this presents a challenge because they must balance the value of bilateral cricket against the commercial benefits of franchise cricket.
