According to media accounts, the Punjab government requested a hefty sum for the administration of the event, prompting the PCB to move the PSL 8 matches slated to be played in Lahore and Rawalpindi to Karachi.

Initially, it was intended for the eighth Pakistan Super League to be contested at four different locations: Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.

Five games have been contested at the Multan Cricket Stadium, but the league's Punjab portion has not yet started. The PCB may choose to move the locations of the remaining matches from the towns of Punjab to Karachi, meaning that the fans of Rawalpindi and Lahore will likely lose out on the action.

The government has requested Rs. 50 crore for the planning of the matches, so it is anticipated that the choice will be made in light of the high cost of holding the league in Punjab. The Punjab government has also requested the urgent payment of the remaining 45 crore rupees for security and illumination, even though the PCB has reportedly already paid 5 crore rupees towards meal costs.

The PCB has scheduled an immediate conference with the franchises as a result of the significant sum that will be deducted from their earnings. In order to avoid paying the amount requested by the Punjab government, it is anticipated that the PCB and teams will jointly resolve to relocate the remaining matches to Karachi.
