Cricket supporters are getting more excited as the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is currently in play, kicks off today, March 12.

At the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, two former PSL champions—Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi—will square off in an eagerly awaited matchup.

Both teams have already secured their spots in the PSL playoffs, with Islamabad presently holding the third position and Peshawar occupying the fourth spot.

Islamabad will try to win the game and surpass Multan Sultans in the PSL standings in order to take second place.

For their part, Peshawar will be motivated to deliver a strong performance and gain much-needed positive momentum as they prepare to enter the semifinals for the eighth straight year.

In the 20 head-to-head matches between the two teams, Islamabad has won 10 and Peshawar has won 9, so there isn't much of a distinction between the two teams' records. In one game, there was no winner.

Islamabad United won the prior encounter between the two teams on February 23, 2023, by a margin of 6 wickets.

Cricket enthusiasts can expect another thrilling game between these two closely matched teams.
