Before the current Pakistan Super League (PSL) events, eight CCTV cameras worth millions of rupees were taken from the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The cameras, according to media accounts, were set up to provide foolproof security and prevent undesirable events during the Lahore portion of the PSL.

Batteries for generators, fiber optic lines for closed-circuit video (CCTV), and cameras were also taken. The worth of the stolen goods is in the millions of dollars.

According to earlier reports, two files have been opened at the Gulberg police station against the thieves, and the event is presently under investigation.

Due to differences between the PCB and the interim provincial administration, there had been rumors that the event would be relocated to Karachi.

The Punjab government allegedly reduced its demand for the security arrangements to Rs. 250 million from its initial demand of Rs. 450 million for security money.

PCB warned to move the Lahore and Pindi matches to Karachi if the Punjab government keeps requesting exorbitant fees after speaking with the teams.

It is noteworthy that the first match of the year was played at Gaddafi Stadium, with the hosts defeating Peshawar Zalmi by 40 runs in a thrilling contest.
