Amir Mir, Minister of Information and Culture, officiated over a recent Majlis-e-Traqi-e-Adab meeting where it was decided to scrap the purchase of computer tablets for the Qandeel initiative worth Rs. 16 million. During the discussion, the minister was also given an update on a number of ongoing projects within the agency.

The minister recommended digitizing uncommon books of literature and making them available to the public on the website rather than spending money on devices.

He oversaw the digitization of the Bazm-i-Iqbal and the Majlis-e-Traqi-e-Adab and revised the literary organizations. The minister also stressed the significance of removing barriers to the Traqi-e-Adab law's approval.

The minister also ordered the creation of a panel to judge the yearly literary prize and the instant distribution of money for the Bazm-e-Iqbal facility. He added that the boards of governors for the Majlis-e-Traqi-e-Adab and Bazm-e-Iqbal would soon be established.
