Regarding school closings, there seems to be some doubt in Karachi. One private school group has called for a walkout in reaction to the murder of its principal, while another has decided not to participate.

Schools in Karachi will be closed on Monday (today) in protest of the killing of Khalid Raza, a notable personality in the private school sector, the All-Pakistan Private Schools Federation (APPSF) announced on Sunday.

Raza served as the vice chairperson of the Federation of Private Schools as well as the assistant director of a system of private schools.

He was killed on Sunday in Karachi by two shooters riding a motorcycle. Kashif Mirza, the head of the APPSF, urged the government to move swiftly and prosecute the perpetrators.

All private schools in Sindh will carry on with regular operations, according to a statement from the All Private Schools Management Association (APSMA).

All public schools will stay open, according to the Sindh Education Department, which also stated that no formal order to close schools has been taken.
