Lionel Messi, an Argentine sensation and the highest-paid player in the world, has been given a wage of over €400 million annually by Al Hilal FC, the most successful football team in Saudi Arabia.

Despite the incredible offer from Al Hilal club, the 2022 World Cup champion is reportedly prioritizing a remain in Europe for the immediate future, according to media sources.

The mark currently held by Cristiano Ronaldo, who signed with Al Nassr last year in a deal reportedly worth over €200 million, would be surpassed if Lionel Messi were to join Al Hilal.

According to sources close to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the Argentine forward is "much more likely" to quit the team at the conclusion of the current campaign than to agree to a new contract.

The superstar joined the team in 2021 on a two-year contract that ends at the conclusion of the current campaign. In 67 appearances for PSG, he has scored 29 goals and supplied 32 assists.

According to reports, PSG may offer him a new contract with a lower wage in order to adhere to UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations given that he presently costs the team about €40 million annually.

The vice president of Messi's previous club, Barcelona, has admitted to recent "contact" with the player and voiced a wish for his return. This comes as the company has displayed interest in getting Messi back to the team.
