After placing first and second respectively in a competitive, six-team ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off, the United States of America (USA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have qualified for the tournament.

With four victories from their five games, the USA took first place in the standings, clear of the UAE on the head-to-head standings after the UAE defeated Jersey on the closing day to tie the USA on points. With three victories each from their five games, the hosts, Namibia and Canada, gave impressive displays but came up just short of moving on.

Gerhard Erasmus of Namibia, who scored 279 runs in five games at an average of 69.75, was awarded Player of the Tournament. Ali Khan of the USA took the most wickets (16 at an average of 12.37), leading the field.

Now that India will host the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2023, the USA and UAE are just one step away from earning an assured nine matches.

The USA and UAE will be competing for two spots in Zimbabwe with eight other teams to advance to the premier international tournament for One-Day International cricket. These will be the lowest five countries in the ICC ODI Super League in addition to the three automatic qualifiers from the ICC CWC League 2—Scotland, Oman, and Nepal.

Currently, it is known that the Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies will participate in the qualifier in Zimbabwe; however, Ireland must defeat Bangladesh 3-0 in their forthcoming Super League series in order to advance past South Africa and qualify for the World Cup directly.

The Qualifier will mark the end of four years of grueling competition in which 32 countries competed to earn a spot in the largest-ever ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.
